Unzip it, then load unpacked.

Chromium will not install a raw zip. Extract the archive, turn on Developer mode, then load the folder that contains manifest.json.

archive.zip The zip should be in your downloads folder. Download again

01 — Unpack

Extract the zip first

Windows: right-click the zip → Extract All → Extract.
macOS: double-click the zip. A folder appears next to it.
Open that folder. You should see manifest.json inside — not another zip.

Load the folder, not the .zip. If Windows nested a second folder, pick the one that actually holds manifest.json.

02 — Developer mode

Turn it on, then Load unpacked

Chrome, Edge, Brave and Opera all share this flow. Pick your browser — paste the URL into the address bar (pages cannot open chrome:// for you).

chrome://extensions

Paste that into the address bar and press Enter.
Enable Developer mode — toggle in the top-right.
Click Load unpacked.
Select the unzipped folder (the one with manifest.json).

edge://extensions

Paste that into the address bar and press Enter.
Turn on Developer mode in the left sidebar.
Click Load unpacked.
Select the unzipped folder with manifest.json.

brave://extensions

Paste that into the address bar and press Enter.
Enable Developer mode — top-right toggle.
Click Load unpacked.
Select the unzipped folder with manifest.json.

opera://extensions

Paste that into the address bar, or go to Opera Menu → Extensions → Extensions.
Enable Developer mode — top-right toggle.
Click Load unpacked.
Select the unzipped folder with manifest.json.
